Worn Out
I am running on empty right about now. What a hectic day, and I had no chance to rest because Noah refused to take an afternoon nap and only slept for maybe 45 minutes this morning. I guess "sleeping in" until 6 (as opposed to his usual 4 AM) really refreshed him. Heh!
Anyway, I spent most of the day running around doing last-minute party stuff. I made the fruit salad, the dips, organized the plates and the kids' goodie bags, ran over to the dollar store for mylar balloons, then to Friendly's to pick up the cake. Whew... It doesn't sound like a lot, but it really was a lot of running around and chopping up stuff, all the while keeping the kids busy.
Tonight I may or may not set the table. I still have to finish knitting part of my mom's birthday present before she gets here tomorrow, so that might take priority. Tomorrow all I really have to do is make some white wine sangria (oh yes: Pinot Grigio, Brandy, sugar, seltzer, sliced peaches, and honeydew melon balls), and the Boutiful Beer Bread (oh thank you, thank you Tastefully Simple for your delicious, and ridiculous easy gourmet goodies!). We'll pick up the BBQ at noon, and that's that! I'm not sure if it's going to rain or not, but if it's nice we'll have water T-ball and monster soccer (a huge, inflatable soccer game) set up, which will be fun. If not, eh... I don't really care either way. We have tons of toys for the kids to play with and honestly, I think it's easier on crowd control when everyone's inside. We have around 25 people or so (including kids) coming over.
Well, I'm going to start getting Noah washed up and in bed. Then hopefully Jake will follow suit and I can have a little peace and quiet while I finish up my chores! :-)

Carol, you sound like me when I'm planning a big event! hehe :) I'm sure that everything will be just fine tomorrow and that we'll all have a *wonderful* time. Hopefully you can relax a little bit tonight and get some good rest. 4 a.m.??? Holy cow, I would die. And I thought that Lucas's 6:15 a.m. was early! I've been feeling kind of crappy today, but I think/hope that it's just pregnancy stuff. :( Off to bed ... g'night! :)
I'm Carol. I'm 30. I'm married to Drew. I'm mom to Jake & Noah. I live near Rhinebeck, NY (though I'm originally from western Massachusetts). I currently work part-time in a wine shop. My hobbies include knitting, paper crafts, food & wine, reading, writing, and photography.
